KIDS' & YA BOOK CLUBS
Unfortunately, we will no longer be running our Junior and Middle Grade Book Clubs in 2023, however Young Adult Book Club (13-16) will still be available to join. Book Clubs meet once a month during the school terms. There is a $30/member term fee which covers all three meetings. Prospective members are welcome to try out one book club session before committing to the term fee. Members receive 15% off all book club books. Book club members also receive discounted tickets to certain workshops hosted in the store. As part of our club, we do ask that you help support our little shop by buying the books from us.
Young Adult Book Clubs (Grades 8, 9, 10) - OPEN
Term Three Date/s: Tuesdays during school term, 4-5pm (October 10th, November 7th, December 5th)
Location: The Mad Hatters Bookshop
September Read: One Of Us Is Back by Karen M. McManus
October Read: Caraval by Stephanie Garber (first half)
November Read: Caraval by Stephanie Garber (second half)
December Read: Curious Tides by Pascale Lacelle (first half)
Every month, book club members meet to chat about books. This is a great after-school activity aimed at confident, avid readers in high school (aged 13-16) looking to read and discuss new books in a casual setting outside of the school curriculum.
Please note: as YA will be covering much more mature themes than the younger book clubs, parents will need to sign permission slips regarding book choices, however we will endeavour to choose 'clean teen' books (no excessive violence, gore or sex scenes, etc.)
